Sadie Hughes, owner of Barneeys, shows off her guest book

Sadie Hughes used to own Barneey’s Restaurant and Motel on Highway 161.

“She was very proud of the guest book and always liked to show off the people who had come in on the way to the Mt. Rainer,” says Sadie’s granddaughter, Bee Rick Reynolds.

If you look closely, that day’s special was a 55 cent banana split. And, you could also pick up a few White Owl and Van Dyck cigars.
