Pete was the son of Torger Peterson, a pioneer of Ohop Valley. This shot was taken on the family farm. The house and barn are no longer there, and it’s the hub now of the Nisqually Land Trust.

I think what I admire about that generation, is their versatility. Ol’ Pete didn’t need a special trailer for his boat, that home made utility trailer worked just fine., He probably used that trailer to haul Hay, and critters, and hundreds of other things. I think people had to be more ingenious back then, since there wasn’t a Walmart, or Fred Meyer store that carried anything and everything a person might need !!
