Pete Peterson's show repair shop
Pete Peterson’s show repair shop

Pete Peterson ran a show repair shop in Eatonville. By the looks of this picture he did a lot of work with boots, which is not surprising considering all the loggers, famers and mill workers around town.

The shoe repair shop was between the Methodist Church and the old movie hall on Marshell Ave. (where the Dispatch is today).

Pat Van Eaton says that the Petersens (Frank and Pete) were from Denmark. “Pete could repair shoes and passed his show repair machine on to Dr. Tom Van Eaton. Pete Jr. worked most of his life operating heavy equipment in the Portland, Ore., area. He was also a member of the Eatonville 1932 Class B Championship basketball team and is buried in the Petersen family plot in the Eatonville cemetery.”
