Every since my post yesterday on Tall Timber, I’ve been thinking Bill Oxley looked like someone familiar. It dawned on me this morning — Mark Twain. Is it just me? You be the judge.

Bill Oxley worked as a teamster for TC Van Eaton in his freight & stage coach business. He arrived in Eatonville in the early 1890’s.

He kind of looks like Jack Warden also (The 1980 movie “Used Cars” with Kurt Russell and Jack Warden) But I definetly see the Mark Twain resemalence !!. Who knows, maybe Samual Clemmons had to get out of the south for various reasons, took on a ficticious name(which Mark Twain was also) and he went west. Now that would be one heck of a book to write.
