More on Hazel Williams

Hazel Williams (ca 1902)

After putting a post up on Hazel Williams, I received this from Rich Williams (I think he’d be her grand nephew). Here are a few more images and words on Hazel.

“Hazel Williams was born in 1893 and died in 1920.  She was the youngest child of Nate and Sarah Elizabeth Van Eaton Williams.  Sarah Elizabeth was T.C. Van Eaton’s sister.”

“Hazel was married to Artolfo Quiriconi — below is a picture of them with Art’s motorcycle.  Both she and her older sister Carolyn died young. Hazel is buried at the Eatonville cemetery next to her mother.  Art is also buried at the Eatonville cemetery next to his father-in-law Nate Williams.”

  1. Hi Diane,

The bottom photo is of Hazel and her sister Carolyn. As you can tell, Carolyn was not well in this picture. It’s very obvious when you compare it to the picture of her with Hazel and Susan Van Eaton.

  2. The Yale motorcycle, in the 3rd picture, appears to be a 1911-1913 model. 1911 was the 1st year they used a flat side tank. the earlier tanks were cylindrical, like a long tube.

The first two pictures of Hazel appear to be taken without alot of enthusiasm !!(LOL) I sense a little bit of attitude in here facial expresion !! If that was her “happy face” I pitty Artolfo(LOL)!!

It is a shame that She died so young, I wonder if it was from the worldwide influenza outbreak of 1919-1920 that killed a third of the worlds population ?

    • Yes, she seems like an intense kid. I hadn’t thought about influenza. I’m asking around to see if the family knows.
