The Silver Lake School was located on Highway 7, about a mile from Frank Krone’s farm.
It was built around 1899 and was a working school through 1922, when many rural schools were being incorporated into the Eatonville School District.
For those who may recognize some names from the past, here are the teachers over the years.

My Mother, Edith Berg , is the girl, third from the left, Velma LeMaster is the girl at the end with the vest, I think the boy in back of my Mother is my Uncle Fred. The building became the home of the Krones family, first Leonard and Myrtle, then Earl and Liz Krones, I visited there with my Mother many times. The building was basically unchanged for many years, including the original outhouse out back. There used to be a restaurant next to it called “The Baked Apple Inn” which also became a family home but was torn down before the schoolhouse was.

I should have recognized Velma. She didn’t change that much over the years. Thanks for all this information. I REALLY appreciate it. Mom said she’s going to show me where the school was, since I live really close by now. Thanks again!
