Check out the cost of running the town in 1938. This budget was adopted by the Town Council on October 27, 1937.

It’s a far cry from today’s budgets, but then so are the salaries. The entire firemen’s salaries in 1938 were $120, and the meter reader made $300.

It was definitely a simpler time.
