The Pleasant Valley School by the East Creek was a perfect example of the one room schoolhouse. It was about 2.5 miles from Elbe and was later consolidated with Mineral.
Miss Serena Marshall (later the wife of Adam Sachs) was the teacher. I believe that’s her on the left.
