I JUST missed bidding on this Buffalo Party Convention poster at a live auction. It looks like the bands lined up to play were impressive. I don’t believe they all showed up, but ย there was still plenty of live music at the 1970 event.

Is this post directly as someone in Eatonville? Or relating to the Buffalo Party Convention?

I found an invitation to this in one of my college textbooks, though the listing of bands is a little different. I couldn’t remember the year, though I was there. Good to find out it was 1970.

Do you still have the invitation? I would love to include it in the documentary!

I’ve got an old unused ticket to this event, I used to have a leaflet they dropped from a helicopter saying “this is an illegal gathering, bla, bla, bla. But I think I lost it. I remember James Cotton and naked pregnant chicks strolling by.

Thanks for the memories. If you run across the leaflet, I’d be glad to include it in the documentary. I can’t seem to find out. ๐

I was there. All three days. We came while they were still setting up the stage.
No, all those bands weren’t there but I remember Mike Bloomfield and all the local bands. Somebody said that Big Brother and the Holding Co. (misprint on poster) couldn’t make it but they dropped a kilo of some killer smoke backstage via helicopter on their way to a concert.
It was a great time, met a lot of cool people, got to pull water from a creek to fill the Bison’s water trough, (Yeah, six or seven Bison on the property in a corral!), lots of cows, grass (all kinds), acid and some good tunes.
