Artist Uses Eatonville History for Inspiration

This great charcoal drawing comes from artist and photographer Davis Gerber. He was inspired by the image of the men in the 1920s building (and blasting) the road that is now the Canyon Road and part of Highway 7.

“I love highlighting hard work and the spirit of it all from the early days,” says Gerber. “And [this] site is rich with images of men who look beyond proud to stand by their work and pose for a camera to preserve that moment in time.”

He adds, “Who knows maybe I’ll head up there and bring an entire art show with me! That would be something else!”
