
Yes, Eatonville used to be into archery. This shot taken by Joe Larin, May, is 1956, is of a competition between Fife and Eatonville Grade School. Who won? I’m not sure.
By today’s standard this seems a little dangerous — arming dozens of young men with bows and arrows. But it seemed to work.

I won as an individual in my class in that meet and I think we won as a team, but I’m not sure about that. I also took 2nd place in the state tournament held in 1955 as part of the Robin Hood days at the age of 12.
