
In 1943 when the new dam was being constructed some railroad relocation was needed.
This shot was taken March 3, 1943. It’s of the railroad relocation looking east at Elbe grade crossing at Station 48+47 RR or 245+36 highway. (I’m taking the location from the information on the image.) For those of you who are familiar with Elbe, you will know right where the photographer was standing.
Seventy years later and things look a lot the same.
